We are doing this for others who may have this disease. We want to bring awareness to this type of cancer, GBM is a deadly disease, and one very few people hear about. This year we have partnered with University of Florida’s McKnight Brain Institute to donate funds to support brain cancer research.
Glioblastoma (GBM), is the most common, and aggressive of primary brain tumors. In the United States alone. Approximately 18,000 people are diagnosed with GBM every year. Almost 1 in 5 tumors that start in the brain are Glioblastomas. Glioblastoma, is a devastating disease for both patients and caregivers, and despite available therapies, prognosis is extremely poor. The majority of patients do not survive for more than two years following Diagnosis, and the median survival is generally less than a year. The average 5 year survival rate is less than 3%.
We hope that you will join us in our efforts to raise awareness and support funding for brain cancer research.
